LinkedIn Local™ - Singapore/Asia produces a variety of professional events, including summits, conferences, briefings, and roundtables. Our goal is to curate compelling, high-quality discussions that generate candid conversations and provide professional insights for our regional audience.
Programming Independence
At the core of our standards is programming independence. The LinkedIn Local™ - Singapore/Asia Programming Team retains final authority - and veto power - over all content in our events, including themes, topics, speaker selection, visuals, session formats, and venues.
On the Record: Mainstage sessions are always on the record. We reserve the right to livestream and distribute all session content on our digital platforms.
Consent: By participating in an event, speakers and attendees consent to the use of their image, likeness, name, voice, and comments in photos or recordings for professional and promotional purposes. Final use of these materials is at our discretion.
Neutrality: Programming can never promote any specific third-party business, investment, or political cause. Multiple viewpoints will be presented on controversial subjects, and moderators will not avoid raising issues or risks relevant to the topic.
Diversity Standard: We strive for diversity across gender, race, ethnicity, and professional expertise. Our standard is to have, at a minimum, at least one woman or non-male-identifying voice on any panel programmed by our team.
No Marketing Speeches: Sessions are centered on moderated conversations. Speakers are not permitted to give speeches, marketing pitches, or sales presentations; any non-moderated presentation must be approved in advance and be integral to the specific session.
Integrity and Responsibilities
The Programming Team is responsible for all aspects of content development and upholds journalistic standards of fairness, accuracy, and transparency in all interactions.
Public Interest: Our moderators act first and foremost in the interest of the professional community.
Independence of Content: We do not agree with speakers or sponsors to ask specific questions unless they have clear merit for the session. We do not provide speakers or sponsors with session content ahead of time, including specific questions or remarks.
Exclusion: A sponsor is not allowed to exclude any individuals or companies from being selected by our team to participate in independent programming.
Attendee (Delegate) Rights and Responsibilities
Attendees should expect content that is compelling, thought-provoking, and regionally relevant. Conversations with moderators and speakers are considered "on the record" unless a session is explicitly marked otherwise. Attendees are encouraged to engage in open, interactive, and honest dialogue.
Sponsors’ Rights and Responsibilities
Sponsors include partners and advisors who provide financial or material support. They are clearly identified as supporters in marketing materials but are not to be referred to as "co-hosts" of the independent programming.
Nominations: Sponsors may nominate qualified individuals to our team for consideration in the program. However, sponsorship does not guarantee a speaking role; participation is only approved if the team concludes the individual’s expertise is relevant irrespective of sponsorship.
Shared Perspectives: Sponsors understand they may share the stage with competitors or individuals with contrasting views. They cannot dictate topics, will not receive questions in advance, and may be asked difficult questions aimed at provoking discussion.
Sponsor Integration Guidelines
Non-independent segments, such as sponsored workshops, are subject to specific conditions:
Educational Nature: Content must be educational or thought leadership in nature; no sales or marketing presentations are permitted.
Clear Attribution: Sponsored segments will be properly attributed as "not independent programming" and will appear visually distinct from regular sessions.
Staff Separation: Core programming personnel do not participate in or moderate sponsored content segments.
Governance and Transparency
All partnerships and collaborations are documented with clear scopes of work. We maintain defensible governance trails for every event to ensure transparency and accountability. These guidelines are reviewed quarterly to ensure alignment with community standards and evolving regional needs.
