LinkedIn Local™ events are organic in-person events hosted by LinkedIn members worldwide, providing an opportunity for professionals to network, build community, discuss industry news trends, and share best practices of using LinkedIn.
It’s important to note that LinkedIn Local™ events are not officially hosted or sponsored by LinkedIn, are organized by members and supported by LinkedIn.
In Singapore, LinkedIn Local™ is recognized as a ground-up, not-for-profit initiative under Building All Groundups for Success - BAGUS Together, a collaboration between the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC), Temasek Foundation, and Tote Board. This recognition underscores our commitment to producing news-centric events that serve the public good.

LinkedIn Local™ - Singapore is the leading community for professionals in our city. We focus on turning digital connections into real, high-quality in-person conversations.
LinkedIn Corporation recently announced that the global LinkedIn Local™ program will end. All official licenses will expire on January 1, 2027. You can read the official notice here.
Our Transition Plan
We are prepared for this change. Our leadership team is currently managing our transition to a new brand, with the support of our community partners in Singapore.
Through 2026: We will continue to host events under the LinkedIn Local™ branding. Our standards and partnerships remain the same.
From January 1, 2027: We will launch a new, independent brand. This new identity will allow us to continue our work via the LinkedIn network and our local partners under a name that we own and govern ourselves.
We are proud of what we have built together. We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events in 2026 and moving into this next chapter with you in 2027.
We design newsmaking, thought‑leadership events featuring panels, fireside chats, and moderated conversations on issues across business, technology, finance, and civic engagement. We aim to surface original insights and responsible discourse to inform professionals and the wider public.
As an independent, not‑for‑profit groundup, our resources come from partnerships, event participation, and community support. Every contribution is directed back into our ability to produce quality content, engage contributors fairly, and strengthen professional networking.
We are also supported by venue partners, sponsors, and participants who value newsworthy conversations. This model keeps our events accessible, sustainable, and focused on public‑interest impact.
LinkedIn was founded in 2003 by Reid Hoffman, Allen Blue, Konstantin Guericke, Eric Ly, and Jean-Luc Vaillant. The idea for LinkedIn came back in 2002 when Reid Hoffman had the idea of finding a way to connect professionals from all industries using the Internet. Today, LinkedIn leads a diversified business with revenues from membership subscriptions, advertising sales and recruitment solutions under the leadership of Ryan Roslansky.
In December 2016, Microsoft completed its acquisition of LinkedIn, bringing together the world’s leading professional cloud and the world’s leading professional network.
